No one can remember exactly when it all started, Jumpin
Jaks has a massive history behind it, though most of the story goes under a
different name. The clues to the old name are all around Jumpin Jaks to this
day. Jumpin Jaks used to go by the name of the Mean Fiddler. To those who
remember the Mean Fiddler the clues that are scattered all around the bar stand
as a reminder to the good old times of the last 12 years.
Back in the
early 90's Jumpin Jaks (Mean Fiddler) used to open in April, and host many
nights of pure Irish music, with regular interruptions from power
failures, mainly caused by the hot winds that come from Africa in April.
With or without power the show went on. People stood on upturned beer crates
and did solo versions of all kinds of Irish songs, U2, Christy Moore, The Corrs. The only thing that could have stopped the show was either a lack of
Guinness or Peach Schnapps.

Matt, Brad and Kristy. All of the old Mean Fiddler staff have now relocated to
other bars in Malia but one remains.....(We never use the word LEGEND lightly
